CELEBRATION TICKET SALES UPDATE
As of July 7, 51,045 tickets
have been sold for the First Flight Centennial Celebration. The daily breakdown
of tickets sold ranges from 9,359 for December 13 to 12,820 for December 17. The First Flight Centennial Celebration is December 12 to 17 at Wright Brothers
National Memorial in Kill Devil Hills, NC.
If you have already purchased your tickets, you
should expect to receive them by early August. You must have a
ticket or credentials (sponsor, Centennial Circle or other credentials) to
enter the park for the event. If you are planning to attend, we encourage you
to make your plans as soon as possible -- including booking a room or rental
house, purchasing general admission tickets, or securing reserved
seating (limited membership remaining) if you wish.
Highlights of the First Flight Centennial
Celebration include daily aircraft fly-over and static display, exhibits,
speakers, musical entertainment including Ray Charles, The Temptations and
Aaron Tippin, and the re-enactment of the first flight at 10:35 on December 17,

Presents Centennial of Flight at Rockefeller Center July 29 - August 18. The exhibit will include replicas from
aviation's first century, including a full-scale replica of the Mercury
Redstone Rocket that will be placed in the same site as the world famous Rockefeller
Center Christmas Tree.
For the Centennial of Flight at at Rockefeller
Center event, Arizona Model Aircrafters, the official model aircrafter of First
Flight Centennial®, was commissioned to build a 1/3 scale 1901 Wright Glider and
a 1903 Wright Flyer. Individual collectors can visit the web
site and purchase your own model, in kit form or pre-assembled, of various
Wright machines from 1/12 to full scale.
FIRST FLIGHT CENTENNIAL
PAVILION
The Pavilion has been working
hard since dedication activities on May 21.
The Exhibit Hall has hosted a record
number of visitors to the park, and allowed these visitors to learn more
through expanded exhibits. We were pleased to host a joint meeting
of the U.S. Centennial of Flight Commission and its Advisory Board just
before opening the Exhibit Hall to the public.
The Auditorium has hosted a number of
special activities including concerts by the U.S. Coast Guard and the
108th Army Reserve Band, the Air Race Classic awards banquet, the U.S.
Postal Service first day issue of the First Flight Centennial stamp,
local events including the kite festival, propeller carving
demonstrations, aircraft display and more.
The First Flight Centennial Pavilion, a
$2 million improvement to Wright Brothers National Memorial, has been
made possible for visitors to enjoy through the generous financial
support of sponsors and donors to the First Flight Centennial
Foundation. Look for upcoming events in the Pavilion.

OUTER BANKS HISTORIAN TO BE HONORED
The Outer Banks History Center Associates will honor David Stick during a
portrait unveiling at the Roanoke Island Festival Park Film Theater, at 7:30
p.m. on Friday, August 1. The public is cordially invited to attend. David
Stick's contributions and accomplishments include: author of 12 books on Outer
Banks history, first mayor of Southern Shores, chairman of the Wright Memorial
Museum Committee, Dare County Board of Commissioners chairman, president of the
Outer Banks Chamber of Commerce, chairman of the Dare County Tourist Bureau,
chairman of the N.C. Coastal Resources Commission, founder of the Outer Banks
